We want to get as many of you as excited as possible about this one, so here's a quick set-me-up for those of you who haven't read the books in anticipation yet...

Please note, some of the details DO differ - thank you CBS - so you really have no excuse not to watch the series AND read the books!

Intro: Cassie Clarke (Britt Robertson in the TV adaptation), happy and normal teenage girl is orphaned when her mother dies in a tragic accident (familiar ground for all those TVD fans out there!) Cassie moves in with her grandmother Jane, in a small town called Chance Harbour (New Salem in the books), Washington where everyone seems to know her name and more...

As Cassie settles into her new high school, she gets to know her classmates...

Cast and a bit: Lovely and sweet Diana (Shelley Hennig) and her gorgeous boyfriend Adam (Thomas Dekker)

Nick (Louis Hunter) AKA broody loner

Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) mean girl

Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy) mean girl sidekick

The Disbelief: When her new found friends explain to Cassie that they've been waiting for her to join them in the Secret Circle and that they are all descended from powerful witches, Cassie is obviously sceptical.

The Realisation: Cassie is taught by Adam how to unleash her inner magical powers and when she uncovers a message from her deceased mother it is only then that she comes to realise that her destiny is dangerous but nevertheless something she must fulfil.

The Issue: As in all our fave dark-life-or-death-series, there are of course some pretty darn large obstacles to cross...
